What's new for 2025?
Mazda has enhanced the base-level CX-50, exchanging the standard 8.8-inch infotainment display and giving all models a larger 10.3-inch screen. Amazon's Alexa voice assistant now comes standard across the lineup and several enhancements have been made to the CX-50 safety technology, including better nighttime performance for the pedestrian detection system. The wireless smartphone charging pad is now standard on all but the base Select trim. In addition, an all-new CX-50 Hybrid joins the lineup of new Mazda SUVs for the first time in 2025.

The new Mazda CX-50 offers two four-cylinder engine options and a hybrid powertrain:
- The base 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine gives you 187 horsepower and comes with a six-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive.
- The more powerful 2.5-liter four-cylinder is turbocharged and delivers 256 horsepower. With that engine, the new Mazda CX-50 can make reach 60 mph in 6.6 seconds and tow up to 3500 pounds.
- The hybrid consists of a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and three electric motors, and it's good for 219 horsepower.
Fuel economy
When it's powered by the base four-cylinder engine, the Mazda CX-50 can give you an estimated 24 MPG on city streets and 30 MPG on highways around Glen Ellyn, IL.
